So my boss was looking for a spot to put a new file cabinet, and so i volunteered some space next to my desk. (you see, this would create a little hedge for me, like a trench. out of sight, out of mind.)* one of the older ladies in my office says, "i wouldn't want to be trapped like that! in a box! i'll be trapped in a box soon enough!" [she meant a coffin, btw] that is possibly the best/truest thing i've ever heard. *the side story: i was sitting in my office, doing [work], and johnny-cool-guy walks in and doesn't say a word to me; he just sits down and starts writing something. which is strange, because he's always popping into my office announcing himself like he's the fonz or something. whatever. about 10 minutes later he turns around cause i yawned or something and he says, "whoa! i didn't even realize you were in here!" yes. more of that, please. i would like to revert to my high school inconspicuousness. if only while i'm at work.
