I think the smokers candles only help for small spaces and I don't find they work well. I would use ozium as was suggested. It really does work very well and now they have different scents to choose from. Also if you spray the furniture and curtains with fabreeze that helps too. I smoke in the house and it does stink. I used to work in an areosol company years ago that filled the cans with ozium. It's the best for all oders I think.
It reduces airborne bacteria and eliminates smoke and odors. It cleanses the air with glycolized action: lighter-than-air particles remain suspended for 3-4 hours, sanitizing, deodorizing and leaving a fresh fragrance. It's used in schools, medical facilities and food-processing areas.

Neat! I'm going to have to look for that for the car!

Lord Byron's Smoker's Candles.
I swear by them. My husband insists on smoking in the bathroom when it's cold outside, despite my repeated attempts to discourage this behaviour.
You can get them at WalMart for a buck or two... and they are completely worth it!

When I used to smoke I actually even smoked inside, sweden is just tooo cold =)
However if you have to smoke inside, atleast have the window open and let it stay open for a while afterwards - I know it will probably still smell - but i do belive that it will as long as u smoke inside... Correct me if I am wrong - but weren´t u supposed to quit =)

Make sure to really wash the ashtray and anything that is around where you smoked use Febreeze or equivalent. Those are some main things to do. Air freshener can help but depends on the type used. Something that cleans the air is best, like Lysol.

Don't smoke.
You can spray deodorizers or burn candles but to me that just creates another offensive odor. I'm really sensitive to smells, chemicals, smoke and perfumes so in my opinion, the best way to get rid of the odor is not to create it in the first place.
And your lungs will love you for it.
