I heard from a friend that they plan to make the casinos in Atlantic City all non-smoking, but I didn't hear about a date...just that it was in 2007. The casinos here in Florida allow smoking...change your flight and come to South Florida.

It hasn't happened yet. Here's some info I found online:

Yes,smoking is allowed in Atlantic City casinos. Each of the major casinos does have non smoking tables or areas set aside for those looking for a clear air environment...if there is such a thing.
Word is, is that Atlantic City may try to follow in Las Vegas' footsteps and ban smoking in casino restaurants. This is a fairly new ordinance that was just passed.

I would hope that the smoking areas really are separate from the non smoking ones!
I'm old enough to remember when smoking was allowed on airlines, and the 'nonsmoking' section was set a set of rows on the plane--as if the smoke would magically stop and not cross over to the next row!

I have been to Resorts Atlantic City and they frequently repeat that it is a smoke free casino.
Pretty much, all 11 casinos in Atlantic city are smoke free.
