why are we here on earth

As individuals we have no purpose other than to perpetuate the species, but I think that the human species are a manifestation of the universe in his quest to understand himself. I think mankind is none other than purpose of Understand, and when science is not that new discoveries will have to further make, then mankind will no longer have any purpose.
