We got our girls an Australian Shepherd puppy last Christmas as their gift from Santa. Our older daughter was really into the Disney princesses at the time, so we got stuck with a dog named "Princess". And the lesson learned that you shouldn't trust your three year old with naming your pets. *LoL*

It's not just 3 yr olds that come up with names like that - a friend of mine who is 35 named his dog Precious after Lord of the Rings - LOL!

i think the name is fine... it would have sucked if it was a MALE dog and your daughter name it Princess... then you should decide to rename your dog!.. heheh

Our new puppy is named Tayah. My son named her after the character in Yu-Gi-Oh. I thought it was pretty so we kept it.

Our cat is named Ripples. He is a grey and black tabby. His stripes reminded us of the ripples in water when the surface is hit by a stone or insect, so we named him Ripples!

I have 2 dogs. Beau and Maximus. Our 1 year old dog Beau was named before we got him. We adopted him when he was 9 months old and he was already familiar with that name so we kept it that way. Now our 6 month old was a stray that we also adpoted, they gave him a generic name of lucky...typical dog name. My husband loves the name Maximus, and always wanted a son named maximus... however we won't be having kids for about 3 years. So my husband asked if we could name the dog maximus. I said sure its cute, its funny because we call him mighty maximus as a nickname because he broke his leg last week and has been so good!

My cat, Murgatroyd, was named by committee at the faire I worked at one summer. He was a stray and kept hanging around the buildings where the actors lived, someone said that "murgatroyd" was slang for someone who wasn't an actor but always was with them and knew all the gossip. I ended up taking him home at the end of the summer.
Our dog, Franklin, was named for the county that the rescue group we got him from was based in (he had been temporarly named "DeeOhGee", but we just didn't think that was a dignified enough name.

Our dog's name is Kya. I picked it because when I was a kid, I wanted two dogs named Kya and Kylar. Girl and boy.

I have 4 cats:
Sassy: because she is outspoken and will always let you know if she is displeased.
Tigger: because he has the face of Winnie the POooh's Tigger and bounces when he runs.
Little Bitz: because she was a little bit of a puff ball when we first got her.
Nor: is arabic for 'light', so named because his coat is so light in color (not white) that sunlight reflects off of it.

I have 4 dogs. My oldest but smallest one is Scotty and the people who gave him to us named him that and he was 6 when we got him so he already knew his name. Scotty suits him anyway. He just looks like a Scotty to me. My next one is Jasper and he is the biggest. My husband named him that because he had a dog named Jasper before we met and someone poisoned him. He loved that dog. My third one is Fluff and we named her that because she looked like a dog my mother n law used to have that had the same name. She acted like her too! My last and youngest is Freckles and she is Jasper and Fluff's puppy together. We named her that because she has Freckles all over her nose. I also have 8 cats but I won't go into another long paragraph with all of their names. :)As you can see I am a big animal lover!

I have a Black lab and I bred him to use for waterfowl hunting. I named him 'Drake'. Drake is a male duck, and I thought it sounded cool for a hunting dog.

My dog's name is Gizmo. My brother said he looked like Gizmo on the Gremlins movie. So it stuck and we still call him that. You can see him in my avitar and on my profile. My birds name is Lucy, I named her that because the first time I saw her she was dancing on her perch. The breeder was listening to "lucy in the sky with diamonds" and she was loving it bopping away on her perch with her brother.

Well our cat Jelly got her name because the first time I held her she was like jelly in my arms.
Lily is basically a shortened version of Little Kitty (or Lil' Kitty)
Juju (our newest baby) means magic and for some reason his name just popped into my head and it just stuck.
