carpal tunnel surgery healing exercises, are there any?

i had carpal tullel surgery on 1/15/07. the dr's all tell me all went very well. well my fingers are still asleep and i still have alot of pain throughout my hand & wrist. the drs say that this is normal for the pain,but the the nunbness of the finger? the dr did not have an exact answer for me, he just told me that i could regain the feeling back, but it could take up to 6 months!! i would like to know of maybe some exercises to speed my recocery up a bit?

yes it does sound like you have it! there are 2 forms of surgery / i had microscopic surgery, painless during the surgery,alot of pain afterwards! they maka a small incesion in your wrist another small incesion in the palm of your hand place a camera in the incesions & cut a ligament. now that ligament that they cut begins to shrink, and for the next 6 months you will experiance some sort of pain. i hope this was helpfull!

I have carpal tunle(spelling??) as well although I have not had surgery for it. I just wear braces when I stress out my writs. The doctor said it is from how I sleep. I slept in the fetal position with my arms tucked in and my wrists bent. My sister had it too and had surgery. She used some sort of ball after her surgery to strengthen her wrist. Squeeze and let it go.
