I don't have kids because I'm only a teenager... but I love Spongebob! Hahaha Random stupidity amuses me. But I don't watch it all the time. But I like it so much that reruns still amuse me. My dad thinks it's stupid but that doesn't bother me.

No, my son hates it. He changes the channel each time it comes on. It is sooo funny. When he sees his cousins all they want to do is watch, right? Well he does not and asks them to turn off the tv and play a board game. The parents get a hoot out this. I tell him he does not have to watch it at home, but not to force other not to watch it. His cousins are about 4-8 years older than him, so they indulge him a bit.

My son once saw an episode that upset him and wouldn't watch the show for 6 months! We were at the dentist's office and they turned it onto Spongebob assuming they were giving him a treat and he screamed bloody murder! I'm sure they'd never seen such a reaction... lol. Of course he's now over his fear, whatever it was... otherwise I wouldn't have started this discussion! lol

LOL, my kids absolutely love spongebob! To the point that when I eat pineapple I get in trouble for eating someone's house!! Hehe, I think it's kind of a silly show, there is not really any educational value to it, but they like it and it amuses them so I see no problem in letting them watch it. It gives them a break from all the other things they have to do to learn information and such and gives them a chance to just relax and zone out, lol

Thanks for your comment. I think it's true that a little Spongebob here and there is ok. I hope so anyway! It's their favorite cartoon. We watch educational shows too... I just need to be sure to limit the Spongebob viewing and treat it as a reward for good behavior or doing well with their schoolwork.

My kids like Sponge Bob, but I won't let them watch it. It has no educational value whatsoever (so I don't get why it's in the time slot it is) and if anything, it teaches rude behavior.

My daughter and I watch it everyday! She is three years old and absolutely loves it. There are only two shows that put her in a trance, as you worded it. They are Spongebob and Tom and Jerry. I don't know why she loves them, but she does. She is always asking to watch those two shows. I put them on when I need to do dishes, clean, or make dinner. Glad to know my child isn't the only one who is like that.

I usually woke up early on vacation to watch it on tv. When the first relesed I run to the cinema to watch it too.
It's an awesome cartoon serie. I love cartoon and I love spongebob square pants.
Now I don't have time to watch at the morning. so, I rent some dvds and watch it at night LOL

ive been watching spongebob for 8 years. everytime i watch it, im in a trance, and im 18 years old. my dad even likes spongebob! i love it. its nice to be able to watch a show with my daddy that we both enjoy.
