Apparently Pope Benedict wants to get the message out - that violence in video games has gone far enough. For all the people and media who want to take violent video games away, I have but one thing to say. Why do you insist on removing violence in video games, but everytime I turn on my television all I see is news about murdering, rape, and other cruelties. What do you think is more influental to a child? How many people in jail admit that they picked up a game of Vice City, and decided that shooting people was cool, so they did it?Maybe the Pope doesn't watch television, but as a game player, I can honestly say no sane person will be influenced by games to harm someone. If it was such an issue, people would be aware about it, but the pope thinks it is fine for kids in our country to wake up watching television about the Twin Towers getting bombed, and the Columbine school shootings... but when we play a pixelated game, someone is going to go haywire! What is wrong with people these days? It is like they are trying to take away our freedoms.
What do you think about this?

well I am no fan of the pope, he usually speaks crap imho. But I do think that violent video games should not be available to kids because young kids cannot distinguish between reality and make believe. when they shoot up and kill people on these games they could think its ok to do it in real life. Having said that, there are certainly more pressing issues that he could be speaking of! But that's the pope///
