first of all, anime is not ONLY for children Some of them are for childrem Have U ever seen MPD Psyco or Rose Hip Zero? Its definetly not for children even her is no adult act. Dont mistakes, many fans make their own manga basic from REAL manga called doujinshi. It can be adult manga 'yaoi' or 'yuri' so... anime not only for a child

Originaly Anime was not geared towards adults. Many aniume shows that in the US and other countires are for kids, in the countires they originated from are for adults. For example, Sailor Moon. In the US it was a kids show that had scenes cut out of it. In Japan it was (is?) an adult cartoon that had a lot of adult issues in it. Hentai is just an out reach of these adult animes. A lot of hentai is not based on any ainme that is for children. There are Hentai comics strips that are just for Hentai.

HAH! im sorry i disagree 100% with the very first thing said. anime is totally not made for children. you could almost put the age limit for violence at the age of 17. granted america edited animes to make them suitable for kids but have you ever watched the japanese versions? much more violent and bloody. and much more shown ;)

just keep the kids away from it, all sites and places check if your over 18. I know your going to say "web sites now in days", but just block the websites, and incase you don't know one or sow girls naked alone or kissing even is...well, really the fact it that most hentai is art in one way or another.

I'm not an advocate of hentai. . .but you should really do some research on these things before attacking a particular genre. As people on here have said, anime is NOT just for kids. They are for everyone, from kids to teens to adults,etc. Besides its not like they show hentai on TV. .lol. Hentai is everywhere on the web though and if you don't want your kids or younger brothers and sisters finding it accidentally on the web I suggest putting some sort of block or something. .And as for the person who said cartoons are for kids. It was not originally that way either. Have you noticed in older cartoons like Ren and Stimpy they have jokes that only adults would get? Sure kids might laugh at it because they are acting stupid but they do not fully comprehend what the jokes are about. . .that I got from a reliable adult source. (: Even Spongebob has them. .haha.

i dont think that Anime is for children only... many animes even though not considered as hentai have those scenes which arent suited for children...there are some animes which are preferred to be watched by adults than children.... although i havent watched any hentai *and i dont have plans to* i do believe HENTAI is for matures only:)

This is traditional Anime/Manga in Japan. I spent 4 years over there and they actually sell this type of thing with teenage girls in mind and the usual scenes have to do with rape and control. They are everywhere from Ramen cafes to the Family Mart convenience stores. It is very normal and not questioned by anyone! Everyone from taxicab drivers to school girls reads this stuff on a daily basis. It might explain why rape happens so frequently in Japan. Girls will tell you they have all been fondled at least once on the trains and most are too submissive/afraid to make a scene. I'm sure much of this goes on because of the cartoons. It's so ingrained into society that the parents don't seem to care either.

contextually, anime is not really for kids. most anime themes relate to teenagers and young adults.

I truly think that Hentai are not supposed to be seen for kids although its an anime because its exhibit X rated shows. I had seen some of it and it was really not apt for children to view it freely since such show might have an influenced on them. And also such shows will surely have a great deal of effects to the mind of our kids.

I remember when i was a child, "The Simpsons" was on tv every sunday morning together with "Doraemon", a famous japanese cartoon. Now i've question myself who the hell have the idea that the simpsons is fit to children

I think that hentai is just an expression of thought, just as anime is, which means it is not exclusively for kids. although there are a few real hardcore animations featuring "made-to-look-real" "love-making" (euphemism) scenes, there are also several animations that, although still cater to a more mature audience, only show intimate scenes and only imply the actual act of "love-making". there are also hentai that are soft-core and are especially-made to present taboo to society. all of this is just a form of sublimation, packaging something private or unacceptable into a more socially-acceptable medium. still, when given a choice between hentai and actual hardcore videos featuring real actors, hentai is the lesser evil. I am no authority..and in actuality making moral decisions is not easy.

umm, Anime is for Late-Teens... Cartoons is for kids:)

i must said that you are wrong with ypu theopry that anime is for children, cartoons like mickey mouse and bugs bunny are for children and asll that nickelodeon stuff, ut anime is something better,m ans is focused on matuer audience, person above 16 with goos historyes good character and alñso sexy ones, so try to check taht please
