What would you do as ruler in your country?

Focus on taking care of my country instead of trying to run the whole world. I would: Close the borders, ask all the noncitizens to leave -- and by ask I mean tell, at gunpoint if necessary. Stop all foreign aid and demand all other countries start making payment on their debts to us. Raise the voting age to 25 and require all citizens under that age to attend college or vocational training until they graduate. Raise the driving age to 21. Ban the use of cell phones, ipod, laptops and dvd players by anyone operating a motor vehicle. End all welfare programs. Putting the burden of charity back onto the churches and the thousands of "non-profit" organizations. Then use the money saved to create jobs for former recipients who want to work. Create fair and equitable housing programs to allow all people to own their own home. Require gas, electric and oil companies to develop solar and wind power and make it available at comparable rates. Make English the national language. Make judges impose maximum penalties for felony offenses. Reduce the three strike rule to 2 strikes. Do away with plea bargains. Institute a flat tax for federal income tax.
