Have you ever noticed that music can seriously trigger memories and feelings that could have been suprressed for years and brought them back? The other day I was getting my hair cut and this song came on the radio and I knew what song it was within a few seconds of it starting. Well my father died of cancer on August of 2006 and the song came on and reminded me of him and how much I miss him. The lady was so sweet she just kept talking to me like crazy trying to block it out for me. Have you ever had this happen?

I am sorry to hear about your loss! Hugs! I have had this happen to me so many times. It is has been over 13years since i saw my family, reasons beyond my control. There are days when i am all alone and hear a music that have triggered memories. It is hard to block them. I just let my memories take me back in time and enjoy the time i had with my family. The other thing that triggers memories is smell. Food smells have made me miss my mom a lot. :(

That has happened to me many many times. It's amazing how a song can take you back to a certain place. I have actually started crying over long past heartaches because of a song that plays. There's a Trisha Yearwood song about this phenomenon called, "The Song Remembers When" and it's an amazing song. I think even if you don't like country music it is an interesting song to hear or read the lyrics.

I don't even really know this but I think that music was originally created to make you feel emotions and anything in your heart and give you a chance to really get to know yourself
