Three of the best RPG with best storyline are: 1. Xenogears (1998, Squaresoft) - No doubt about it. The overall storyline itself is unique. The existence of mankind, the existence of higher being, the concept of cyclicality, the manipulation of humanity, the mysterious beginning, the ultimate ending. Personally, I played it more than 3 times just to understand the storyline. 2. Shadow Hearts 2 : Covenant (Nautilus, Midway, 2004) - The series of Shadow Hearts has started ever since Koudelka involved with the mysterious Emigre Manuscript. And Shadow Hearts 2 has the best storyline in the series. Some of the most tragic incidents in RPG is in it. 3. Baldur's Gate series (BioWare, Interplay Ent., 1998-2001) - In term of storyline continuety, this is one of the best. The journey of the main character on his quest to search for his own existence, find the answer to the upcoming catastrophe, and solve the mystery of Bhaal and his spawns.
