I think that between both the pronouncation remains same but the spelling's change. In US English the spelling is like pronouncation.British english is more pure one.

the basic difference b/w british and US english is that of pronuniciation. there are some spelling differnces but that are not of much importance. even the grammar used is different somewhat. english also varies according to the use that they have. like gotta, gonna, and many other modified things are more famous in US english .

Hi Unfortunately as the US's continued dominance of all forms of communication exists, the use of British English is fast disappearing. US english developed from a mix match of different immigrants that moved to the US. This included German/Irish/Italian and many more european settlers. This then corrupted the prodominant english language. For example many spellings changes occured, for example colour - color. Even phonetically pronounced color is incorrect, it would have been more suited to be spelt cula. American english is obsessed with simplification of the language. An example of this would be evident in a word such as schedule - pronounced shedule in br english. To teach this type of pronunciation to an immigrant or non-speaker is difficault at best. If said at face value this burden is overcome. Hence the bastardisation of the language. So yes the difference in simplistic terms is spelling and pronunciation. Although there are many grammatical differences and indeed accented differences as well.
