Valentines day or no Valentines day - what do you say?

I think that Valentines day is a useless and meaningless day. What is so special about this day then other days? You are going to have your heart broken anyway if not on valentine day then on any other day. Why do people think this day as if it's the matter of life or death? Valentine Day is nothing but a waste of your precious time and money.
We don't need a day to tell our loved ones how much we love them. We can tell them whenever we want to. Tell them how you feel about them on one day and ignore them for the rest of the year.
Everyone have a different story to tell. This day is just for some lonely, pathetic frustrated and desperate people. Ask the manufactures to them everything is a business they will say "Who cares what the origin is as long as we are making profit on stuff toys, candies, chocolates and other things".
I remember about two years ago my cousin he loved this girl and wanted to tell her on the valentine day. He was so happy I have never seen him that happy before. Around 2:00 AM in the morning his father called and told us that he attempted suicide (over dose of sleeping pills) and is in hospital. We rushed to the hospital. His parents were so worried his mother was crying the whole time. He is their only son. Doctors where able to save his life I dont understand what people think of this day whatever this day is its defiantly not worth taking you life. Being rejected on valentine day doesnt mean that you should die and leave the ones who love you crying.
Life is precious gift from God. So pray and thank God for this gift rather then running around saying I love you and taking your life after rejection. Love is a feeling which the one you love will see it in your eyes rather then just saying it on a day without actually feeling it.
Valentine's Day is stupid, commercial, meaningless and over-rated. Everyday should be a valentine's day. Iam just expressing my point of view which most of you will agree with.

I agree that valentines day is over-rated. My partner and I tell each other that we love each other every day. We do celebrate valenatines day but we also celebrate our first date and other significant days as well. It is just our way of showing that we are thinking about each other. It is a way we set aside time specially for each other and we don't spend much money either. Life gets very busy and we need to set aside special times to re-focus on our love.
However, we have only been together for two years and previous to that I was on my own and I found Valentines Day very depressing. It felt like I was the only person on my own.
I'm very sorry to read about your cousin. Such a shame that he tried to take his own life. I'm pleased he had his family to support him. Family is so important.

you are absolutely right. i feel everyday should be valentines day. there should not be a special day when u should proclaim your love. you should make your loved one feel loved each and every day. i also agree with u that valentines day is just a way for the greeting cards companies to make more money
