People, Sony's PS3 has been out for a couple of weeks now in the US and Japan but yet to be launched in Europe. What do you think about it being a Microsoft 360 killer and would you fork out $600 or more for it (thats if you havent already got one)? Do you think its capabilities are all hype or is it going to deliver in a year or two as promised by Sony? Discuss...

I think buying a PS3 isn't a waste of money. PS3's capabilities are powerful than any other consoles. I think for now, we'll have to wait for the price to go down. Sometimes I can't even sleep just thinking about the goodness of this system and thinking how should I buy this expensive console.

i don't think sony has let us down ever before, so i don't think it will make false promises now.
granted it is expensive, but i'm sure it will be worth it in future,
when it comes to 360 killer though, i wouldn't really agree with that, i think 360 has got its own potential and its got another advantage, it's cheaper, and it's got pc titles being released on it too.
Time will tell all else.

You're right, Sony has not let us down before and i'm sure they wont start now. Ever considered the fact that they could have developed a ps3 with similar specs as the 360? I dont think they even "opted" to develop a more powerful console, they actually set out to develop a console to give us a unique experience different from what everybody else is offering. Developers had better go back to school to make use of all this power cos the ps3 is years ahead of the next 360!
