Eating a healthy diet and drinking plenty of water are recommended for preventing spots.
By 'healthy diet' I think they mean eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and things with vitamins and minerals in them. eating lots of fatty junk food does your skin absolutely no good whatsoever.
Also, keeping you skin clean and free from anything that can block your pores.
There are some times when stubborn spots will appear no matter what you do!
