How does the star rating work here on Mylot?

I've noticed that some have colored stars next to their names with a number in it. What does this signify? And how does it work? I haven't found an explanation for it on the mylot help area.

Yeah..i was just thinking about that..I realize my star rating was 9 and my reputation was 88 yesterday..And when i login today..i checked it went low,my reputation today is 82 and the number decreased to 8.I have no idea what it is all about.I just thinking that someone rate my discussion negatively.

Where do you find the reputation rating at?

you just point your cursor to that star and you will know your reputation.

Thanks for the information. For some reason I now have a star when I didn't have one earlier today. So I'm just going to go with the flow.

there have actually been a few discussions about this topic since they brought it in a short while ago. the stars basically show your reputation on here in regards to posting - the better quality postings you make, the higher your rating will eventually go.

Yes, the FAQ's are very limited. They should work on this too as well. They should clarify more issues for us. Such as the star rating, its uses, its significance, effect on earnings and so on and so forth. The stars is a rating for the quality of your discussions and replies, I think.
