I am not sure of this , by the way logically speaking i thin it works against your concentration.U need t keep chewing and at the same time carry out other task , will not help you to put your entire attention to the work at hand...I dont think it can be true

Yes, it does. We learnt about it in my educational class, if you want to know the source of the study I can go through my binders to find the study. The students were able to concentrate more in class if they were chewing gum. Just let me know because I always look at discussions that I respond to, thank you.

If you watch the football on a sturday night most of the football managers seem to chew gum. Some of them seem to have the attention span of a dormouse. It can only help. I heard somewhere that mint actually extends the concentration, so it may not be the gum it might be whats in it!

I think it could if you do it without thinking about it. I chewed gum in the past when I had to concentrate on things and it did help. But over the years it will cause TMJ, the hinge in the jaw will get irritated and inflamed. So, now I do not chew gum very often for anything.

Some people, including me, thinks a step better when we have gum in our mouths. I don't know how but for some reason, our creative and analytical minds function better with it. =)
