Who pays on a first date

Who do you think should pay on a first date. Some of my female friends will become angry if they are expected to pay and others insist on splitting the bill? What are your thoughts about this?

I think you should pay your own, and she should too. Well, on my first date with my boyfriend, he paid for me. I wanted to pay mine, but he refused it. He said that if I paid my own bill, I will lost the style of dating with man.

Ideally the guuy should pay on the first date and if the girl really insist on paying then i feel the bill should be split...

I know some females that become erraged if the male does not pick up the check. Is this justified?
