Has any one had any bad experiences with doctors?I don't mean bad surgery's just bad manners or bed side manners.
My son is at the hospital and was told he would be told if he had to stay or could leave after his CT Scan.So the wife and I went and waited to pick him up.We heard nothing from any Doctor of any sort for six hours. The nurses were great I may add.It was quite a drive and the weather and roads were bad so we could not go home and wait just to come back. The nurses called the doctors every half hour and kept getting the same run a round.Who to complain to?

I did have an unpleasant experience once with a hospital doctor. It was when I was warded after I suffered an infection on the operation site for appendicitis. To clean out the infection, they had to remove the stitches and drain out the pus and administer antibiotics. But before I fully recovered from it and the wound was still open the doctor told me that I could go home. I was horrified and told him about my fears of something happening to the open wound if I go home before it was completely healed or at least stitched up again but he wouldn't listen. In the end I had to call a friend of mine who is also a doctor and he got me referred to the hospital he was working at so that I could recuperate there. I hope I never will meet such a doctor again who aren't in the least sensitive to their patients vulnerability and fears.

Did you bring any charges against him or maybe sue.I think in your situation I would have.He should have given you an explanation as to why he was sending you home like that.
I am not for suing for just any little thing but I think he was in the wrong and you have another Doctor as a witness.

Yes, my son is in the hospital all the time. The last time he was in the hospital he had some complications and the doctors would not come talk to me. I finally told the nurses that if I didn't have a doctor talking to me in the next 30mins I was going to the administrator. Guess what within 15 mins. I had 3 doctors in his room. People think they have to tolerate doctors attitudes but they have bosses to. If you have any more problems just go to the administration of the hospital.

Had I not been given the information when I asked for it the last time I would have blown a gasket and have gone over all their heads. These doctor have no right to treat their patients like a piece of meat.It should make no difference as to how one patient or another pays for their service. They took an oath to help and respect people.I really hope your son gets better and get the care he deserves as a human being.
