Taking photos from a mobile phone

I have a nokia mobile phone with a 2 mega pixel camera and is so handy to take photos in the spare of the moment.
Have you been in a situation where you mobile phone with camera has come in handy? Please share your stories here!

my cellphone is samsung and it has a camera. I love taking pictures and so if I left my digital camera at home, I use my cellphone to take pictures.

yes well having to cart a camera around as well as everything else we have is too difficult, I recently looked on the Nokia site and one of their new mbile phones now has a 5 mega pixel camera!! I guess having a digital camera handy will soon phase out even more!!

I just use my phone's camera for the usual reminders or when I want to show my friends something later. Like a funny sign I saw in someone's front yard with a dog pooping with the red circle and line through it. There was a fantastic story in a magazine, maybe Glamour or Allure, about how a girl used her camera phone to help catch a pervert on the subway. This guy was sitting across from her on the subway, um...servicing himself while watching her. So she took her camera phone and snapped a picture then went to the police with it. I remember the article saying that the even caught the guy. Clever girl!

Yes having a phone camera of such small size would be great to conceal it for such activities!!Good to hear they caught the bugger!

I don't have a camera in my phone, but I know of one person who used it to take a picture of a car accident, with a few different things as it was starting to rain, and they thought stuff might get washed away.
The pictures were not of 'excellent' quality, but they were apparently helpful for the police to sort out what had happened.

i have a nokia 6230i and makes really good pictures, it has 2 megapixels... when i download them on my pc they are really big... when i made first time with my phone pics i thought that on my pc it will be very little! but they are normal and good!

I used to have the 6230i and i agree it takes nice pictures, i think most phones do now. At first when they first added a camera feature into phones they were nowhere near as good as they are today, small and blurry, but they are getting better and better and some phones have 3 and 4 megapixel cameras built in.

One time, I saw my friend's boyfriend with another girl, we discreetly took a picture of them at a mall with my nokia 6680... still didn't stop my friend from dating the guy though.
One time it came really handy when I was vacationing in Hongkong... easier to take pictures with a 3650 than with a camera that has flash... that's if you're taking a picture of yourself at an arm's length.

Mickeymousemike, welcome to mylot! I guess all cellphones now have the camera features with it. So almost everybody with cellphones have been in a situation that you mentioned.

Yes i always use my camera on my phone. When i go out on nights out and have a small bag i cant fit a camera in it but i have my phone already. Also i go to a lot of gigs and find the phone useful to take pictures and videos of the band.
