Please can you clear my doubt??

I have a very big doubt reagrding the creation of this very world which we live in.I love science and therefore love reading science magazines and journals and all the stuff related to science.
The question which always confused me was regarding the creation of this world.When seen through science it says that the earth and other planets were created after the big bang theory.But the HOLY BIBLE describes the creation of earth in other way.
I'm not criticising any one and any religion but i just want my doubt to be cleared.I'll be very thankful if you could answer my doubt.

Well, there is no confusion because they are two different theories, you can't believe or understand both of them at the same time.
It is generally accepted that the earth and our galaxy was created after the big bang (heard of a white bang recently but have no idea what that is) after scientists have been researching for centuries, studying the planets, etc.
The bible was written (im an atheist) at a time when there was little or no understanding of the world we live in or how it was created. Therefore, the God made in seven days story was told to give people something to believe in, to answer the questions of how it all began, etc.

You could clear my doubt to an extent but after reading to this I've got even some doubts.
Like even i heard about white bang..what is that??

hot materials condensed to form planents and then the unicellular organism which could survive in temperature more than thousands of degrees lived and combined to form plants and animals. atleast science suggests it. u say that u love scintific approach so accept what science predicts. creation of life is described differntly in different religions.
