"I to sleep because my life has a tendency to fall apart when I'm awake..."
This is what I used to tell my boyfriend when I suffered from depression. He would ask me why I was always at my room. He didn't knew I was depressed until I told him so. I wasn't really always sleeping. I was pretending to be asleep. Because I didn't want to deal with anything at that time.. I'm just glad that I got over it..

I can understand that, as I have been doing just that over the past couple of weeks. I hate being awake lately and can't wait to go back to bed. Its like an escape from life for a little while.

I remember, with my depression, the first thing they asked me about was sleep. Was I sleeping more or less than I used to? Changes in sleep patterns are a key symptom of depression. Even in your case, where you were pretending to sleep, it was a way of trying to cope... I'm glad you're better now :)

I have been depressed before too. and thats all I wanted to do. When you are sleeping you don't have to deal with the problems around you.. You hope they will just go away. But when you wake up they are still there.. It is hard to get out of a depressed state. I'm glad you did...
