Have you posted to the same discussion more than once by mistake?

Hi everyone of you mylotters LOL. I have been here just about a week now and I was wandering if you will get into trouble for posting to the same discussion more than once. I have found that sometimes I come across a discussion that is close to what I have responded to before over the days, but Im not real sure. what if we do post to the same discussion that we already answered the other day? Will we get reported? for some reason the same discussions I have already responded to, keep appearing unless I chose to go to the new discussions. Sometimes when answering my friends discussions, I also lose track of what ones I have answered and which ones I haven't on a day to day basis. anyone have any knowledge of this out there? Are you having the same problem or issue and does this violate the terms or make our friends mad or waist your time?

I have seen others do this, and sometimes I do it on purpose, if I have more to add, just as I would if I were in a regular face to face discussion. I almost did it accidentally this morning. I never thought about the ratings, as your other poster mentioned. You will find that I responded to the newbie who was asking about ratings as well. I will not get credit for two responses, so you might say I "wasted my time", but I helped someone, and I contributed my bit to your discussion as well, so to me it is not really a waste.

I must have posted 1700 discussion topics and all the topics are well known to me. So never I post the same topic again.

Yes, I've only done that once. One of my posts had the picture and the other didn't. I don't know why it posted it twice, but it did. I hope I don't get in trouble for it though.

I've found that a couple of times that the response I've written has posted twice by mistake, one of them I went back to edit it and when I posted it, found that the original one was already there, I think this is caused by a server problem, possibly running slow. I don't think you get a credit for double posting. I've also seen this happen with other people as well

Same here. I hope we don't get docked or in trouble for doing it because it is a total mistake.

Great. I see you have alot of posts also. It's hard to see which ones you have answered so now I just make sure I rate each of them I respond to, then I will know I have already posted to the discussion as soon as I open it up also.

It is not the discussion in my case, but it is the comments or the responses in my case. I have met this thing in my case due to the technical problem. Some times, it seems to me that this response has not been posted, then i try it again and later on i see that it has been posted twice or thrice sometimes.

Yeah. I noticed I lost one point today for some reason, but also there are times when I gain a point and I don't know where it came from.

I've wondered the same thing. I go through and look if there isn't too many responses. Like you say some are so similar its hard to be sure. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if I have responded to the same one more than once.

In my case, I am finding that I am replying to someone elses topic more than once. I may reply to it today and tomorrow I may end up replying to it again, not knowing or remembering if it is exactly the one I already responded to it before.

I'm sorry, but can't we reply on the same discussion twice or more? is it not allowed? OK, time to check the ToS.

I agree there with you. But some information that I have looked for in the terms of service didn't answer my question in full. I have contacted mylot and waiting for their response too.

I have only responded once to a main topic discussion, but have gone back and responded to other member's comments for the same discussion. I have seen several posts from one member on different topic listings, so I do not think there is anything wrong with this.

Hello. As time goes by, you will see it is hard to know exactly which ones you posted to unless you rate each post you have replied to.

There are similarities in many discussions and many discussions are also exactly similar. It is very difficult to remember the topics if you post to many discussions. Also sometimes we may read the topic and dont answer to the post. And we have a feeling that we might have answered to the discussion. I dont take care if i answer to similar discussions as long as it is not to the same person and to the same discussion. Eventhough we answer to similar discussions we will not be able to put down the exact same words in both places. So i dont care much.

The problem that I have is remembering what discussions I've actually responded to...I have over 10 pages of topics that I responded but it takes forever to go through them. I don't want to respond/comment on something I've already done so on, but it's hard to remember sometimes.

I have done this often. Then I saw a post where a person said that they rate the discussion so they know they have been to that discussion. I have been doing this for the past few weeks and it has cut down my repost a lot. I have to admit that I have forgotten a few times to rate a post so I may post there again. I am being very carefull though.

Yes. Sometimes mylot pages don't load. I have had to press reload a few times. I'm sure that most of us do not intend to post the same discussion more than once.
