what makes it so special? is it a secret family recipe? or something you stumbled across one day as you leafed through your magazines?
when i was about 13 years, my mom bought me a huge cook book for christmas. i was so happy because i love to cook. so i began to go through it one afternoon and i found this one recipe called Buried Cherry Cookies. one im a sucker for anything chocolate and anything that has cherries. i went to the store and gathered all the required ingredients and i got home and spent the afternoon cooking several batches of those cookies. they are my favorite because i did it all my self and they actully turned out very well.
so now i make them for thanksgiving at my grndmas house and for bonfires during the summer.

My absolute favorite is coconut cream pie. My mom made those when I was a kid. That was before instant pudding I guess because I remember her cooking hers when she made those pies.
Next to that Banana Pudding is really good.

I love leche flan. It's made of egg yolks and condensed milk. Every Filipino love it. I have just learned how to make one and I'm so thrilled. If you come to my house I'd prepare one big platter for you. LOL!

I'd have to say there's a tie for my favorite dessert: Baked Alaska flambe, and Flan, which is a Spanish egg custard.
The first time I had Baked Alaska was when I was around 8 years old in a French restaurant in Atlanta, Ga. I'd seen some people sitting at a nearby table being served what looked like a cake that was on fire! This really intrigued me, so I ordered it and immediately fell in love with it.
For years, I thought it was probably too complicated and expensive to make at home. Then one day I found a recipe and discovered it's the easiest thing to make, and inexpensive, too. Now that I have a tiny freezer, I don't make it anymore, but someday when I have a new fridge that has a freezer larger than the size of a penny, I'm going to make it again. :)
Flan I first had when I was around 6 years old at my great-grandmother's house in Miami. She made the best flan. The taste was out of this world. Every year, we'd do to her house for a huge family Christmas gathering and I couldn't wait til it was time for dessert because that meant flan. :)
I rarely make flan, because I'd be as big as a barn if I made it and ate it everytime I wanted some. :)
