Do you keep a blog or a journal online?

As someone who enjoys writing, I sometimes like to write down what's on my mind or to tell my friends what's new in my life through my blog on MySpace. I try my best not to write about boring or depressing topics, and if I'm in love with someone I don't ever really write too much about her online, but sometimes I do delve into things that bug me.
Do you keep a blog or journal? Do you keep it daily, or just whenever you feel like posting? How intimate are your entries?

I used to enter a few responses on a blog, but I have long since stopped as I don't have time to fit everything that I have going on into the time that I would have available to write that blog. (Hopefully that made sense). Maybe it is because I don't have the patience to talk about myself, but it would be something nice to have in order to look back on it some days down the road.

Making time to write blog entries is sometimes a big challenge even for people who don't have a complicated schedule because of work, studies, or outside responsibilities. And sometimes it's very tough to figure out what to write about even when one does have a tendency (as I do) to talk about myself. Perhaps it's easier to keep an old-fashioned pen-and-paper diary which no one will read, because I find that simply blurting out every private thought one has can sometimes be counterproductive, especially in a public blog, where everyone can, depending on where the blog is and the privacy settings selected, read all the entries.
My life, particularly my love life (such as it is), can sometimes be alluded to. and I have written about past loves in my MySpace blog, but I don't ever discuss the girl that I'm in love with.

I have had an online journal on journalspace.com for the longest time! Since 2004 I believe. I also keep blogs on myspace. :) I like to write about my life and such. Keep updates on my son and whats going on. My mom reads my blog on journalspace and that's about it. :)

Do you write detailed entries with much description? Or are they short, to-the-point entries?

I have a few blog places, but they aren't at blogging websites. I use myspace to blog once in awhile. I also blog at sparkpeople (diet website). I WANT to keep it up, and I WANT to have an interesting blog, but I have a hard time with it. I don't know why though, I seem to be able to type a lot on sites like mylot, seems I should be able to blog :)
I never get too personal, just general things about me or life or whatever. I have friends who post every single thing about their life and I don't get it b/c I think sometimes the people they are writing about or complaining about may see their blog and realize it is about them.

Yes, I do keep a blog at blogspot. I actually have several blogs. I started only 3 years ago. I kind of shifted around until I finally found a home in blogspot. My blog there is already 2 years old. I just write whenever I feel like it. I really wanna write more often though 'cause I think it's good for readership. But it got me thinking, why am I keeping this blog? Is it for me or is it for the people reading it? I guess it's a little bit of both. But mostly I just put what I wanna put there. I don't really write serious stuff because I don't want readers to feel depressed when they read my blog. I write about really casual stuff. I usually put like, latest news about what shows I'm watching or something funny that happened to me or whatever. But there are times that I rant about my horrible day or just write stuff down. You know, it's one of those therapy sessions that I have. But as much as possible I don't write very personal stuff because people I know read my blog and I don't want my private life broadcasted all over the web. Lol! Unless I assume a pen name or something. Which I haven't tried yet...

What kind of entries do you enter? Are you a business person with an enterprise? Do you write long entries...short entries....and do you have set topics you write about?

I don't keep a public blog, although I have one that is kept private on a dieting site. It has the option to share certain entries with other site members if I choose, but I have not chosen to do this.
I like to be able to look back on it if I want to, but I see too many people blurting out too much personal information.

In the case of not wanting anyone to read your blogs, do you use it because it's more convenient to type on a keyboard and hide it instead of keeping a paper diary?

I have a blog at Yahoo 360 that I post in a few times a week about things that capture my fancy. I keep 2 blogs at Wordpress -- one is about anomalies and oddities of our planet and beyond, and I post there weekly -- the other is a more personal one and mainly about my money-making endeavors and that's the one I post in almost daily. I have one at MySpace about UFOs and paranormal phenomena, and I post about once a month. I'm also editor of an e-zine that explores superstitions, mythology and urban legends, etc. All this keeps me quite busy but I enjoy it so much!

You sound (or read) as though you're an X-Files fan!
The Truth is Out There...
Or is it in your blogs??
Thanks for the response!

I'm addicted to journals, both online and off. I keep a livejournal.com account active almost on a daily basis. I also use myspace.com, blogger.com, the blog on lulu.com, and the blog on myworld.ebay.com. Oh yes, and I also blog on suite101.com. I'm using so many different ones primarily because I like sharing what I've just written and what I'm selling for art.
