What kind of dog do you have? How hard was it to train your dog?

My dog is a chihuahua and he just won't seem to learn. We tried punishing him, we tried praising him. No matter what we do he does what he wants. He learned maybe two things in the year we've owned him. He can sit and he goes to his dog house when we tell him to.

I have a german shepard pure bred. He is very intellegent, and I have used several training techniques to train him. I sometimes visit a proffesional dog trainer or go to a dogtraining session with him so that he can be used to training with other dogs at the same time.

I have a mutt that I got from the pound (they said he's a lab/dalmation mix). He's the reincarnation of a neurotic old man. He's afraid of everything, including his food dish. He does something that he's not supposed to and then shakes like a leaf--without us even reprimanding him for it. I've taught him not to chew the kids' sippy cups by throwing one at him (bounced on the floor next to him and splattered milk on the wall, the carpet, the table). He's actually a really good dog but because he's such a chicken little, he's very difficult to train.

My dog has a supper ego he thinks he owns the house. If we carry him off to his dog house he'll try to bite us or he'll just bark and growl at us until we move from away the box. Other then that he's very pleasant and he's not very scared of anything. If someone knocks on the door he'll bark really loud even though he's so small.
