Belching without saying "Excuse me"

How do you feel about people belching at you midstream a conversation with them and not hearing an "Excuse me" from them. I know lots of people who do this, even though I always excuse myself if I belch. I have a close friend who does this to me all the time. Would I be overreacting to say I consider this to be rude? What are your thoughts on this?
