The one that made me do that was The Changeling. Excellent ghost story with George C. Scott. It will have you leaving the lights on afterwards, checking for any noises and you will never look at a wheelchair the same way again. Thing is there is nothing gorey in it, no blood and guts, nothing like that. It is all suspense and lots of it.

You know, I have not seen a lot of the scary movies, I think the one that is the scariest is it. Pennywise was one really bad clown.
But the movie/book that really scares me is 'The Stand', the reason I think it scares me is because our society is just a 1/2 step away from that actual scenario. A deadly world epidemic, one that makes people more sensitive to thoughts of other people, where good and evil are the 2 prevalent forces, but they are black and white - no shades of grey. And again evil forces are playing with nuclear bombs in their desire to control.
Everytime I go through the Lincoln tunnel, I think of 'The Stand' and my skin crawls.

poltergeist I and II, Arachnophobia, The Ring II those are the one I found scariest. With Ring II they even had strang things happening on the set, the child star who in the story was to get sick actually did get sick but seemed only to get better when he was not on the set.

I like the old school scary movies like the original Halloween or Friday the 13th. Watching them alone in the dark can be pretty scary. But I love scary movies so not many scare me.
I will say that I agree with the person who said Candyman - that was pretty scary and we would tease about saying Candyman 3 times but would never really get to the 3rd time .. "just in case" it really happened. *lol*
My son wants to be a film maker when he gets older and he really wants to work on scary movies and bring back the thrill of them because they seem to have lost the 'scare' recently. Scary movies these days are really very boring and typical. We always know how they are going to end which isn't any fun. I can't wait for him to make a real scary movie again - in 10 years keep your eyes out :)

The scariest movie that I have seen is "Scariest Movie". I know it's funny but it's scary too. No, actually, the scariest movie in the history of Hollywood is Exorcist. That movie has made history, and I recommend that you watch both the old one and the new version of Exorcist.
