Why is Indian team inconsistent in their performance?

I am very much surprised to see India's performance in the last few ODI's and Tests. To be frank, I am not sure where we are lacking behind. As such, we have got some best players in the world. But yet, we could not keep things moving in the right way. The very important thing which i would like to mention here is, the inconsistency in selecting the team. Why is that our team is getting shuffled inbetween the matches? Do someone think this is essential? As far as I am concerned, all the young players need confidence to perform well. If we are keeping on shuffling the team like this, no player would grew in confidence. By saying this, I am not criticizing the shuffling method. But I am trying to say that the shuffling policy doesn't seem to work against India. Does anyone have anything to oppose on this?
