I have been asked to be a assistant or manager. I do not want the stress of that job. Are you a boss or a manager? do you like it?

I used to be a manager once and I didn't like it at the start. I was only 6 months in the job and I was promoted to a managerial position which angered the rest of the employees especially the old timers. They actually staged a sit down strike because of that and I felt so bad that I told the owner I would rather step down but she stood by her decision. A meeting was called and through the help of the company's lawyer, issues were ironed out. Later on I was able to build a good rapport with the employees and things worked out well.

Long before I retired from the Postal Service after over 30 years I had made up my mind that I did not want to be a supervisor. The pay for being a supervisor was not that much more than what I was making and I did not want to be to lie and mistreat people. Being a christian is more important to me than being a supervsor.

My dad worked for the postal service and was a post master in a small town. He even got robbed once to. Then he also was president of the union. He got parkinson and had to quit. I wouldnt want to be a supervisor either.

Yes, I am the boss because I run my own business. It's just a very small one, nothing to reckon with. I like it very much compared to working in an office or teaching in a university. It makes me use my intellect to the fullest to meet problems and exact appropriate measures to remedy them all. It feels good that I can call on the help of those whom I feel are the best to help me out of each situation. And it feels extremely rewarding to be able to help those handhelp I get financially. It is really a relaxing job, this farmwork.
