i think you can get a general idea of where people of from by what words they use. for example. i know in the northern us, alot of times they refer to soda as pop. where as down south in sc anyway, everything is coke.lol you could be drinking sprite but its coke.lol i dont think you are psycho, just good at picking up subtle hints like these.

Some of the words or phrases we use are p/u from people we either spend time with - or who say things that stick - like I say folks, which is not used a lot from the place I've spent much of my growing up years from and I say 'powder my nose' because a friend of my moms used to say to be polite.
