how do you know you found your soul mate?

I have lived in the states, in Canada and in Portugal. Now i have met my share of people and have dated a few guys, there have been a few times that someone i met in the states is exactly the same as a person i met in portugal, or someone i met in portugal is exactly like someone in canada. So how do you know that the person you are with is your soul mate if there are so many other great poeple out there that will and can make you happy?
