Sam opinion here, after seeing Russell Crowe in the Gladiator I would like to see more historical roles played by Russell Crowe. I think Russell Crowe is the best for playing historical roles ...

i too think the best actor for such roles is russel crowe. he done that in gladiator and he proved himself as a star in that movie. so he is the best for doing that kind of roles. he can do such roles with great perfection.

i was trying to think of another actor in historical films that stood out. but i have to agree with you about Russell Crowe, his movies are the only ones that made me "feel" like he was really there.
