I think it determines the value of your posts. I;m not really sure of this though. No one knows how myLot's algorithm works. I just noticed that the higher the star rating, the better I earn. =)

I'm not sure. I think it's a reflection of the quality of your posts. And there is a rumor floating around that you get paid for your posts according to this rating.
