Owership discussions

I have seen many discussions here on mylot that are asking whether or not someone owns something or what kind of something someone else owns or is using, Why do these people want to know? I myself am guilty of it as well but that was an experimental question to see how many responses I would get (didn't get many) Although the question did have purpose. I was trying to decide on monitor size and style. Why would someone care whether I am using linux or windows? WHY?

people will always cherish that which is not theirs. You owns this or that is merely those with the biggest toys discussion. People who are truly happy don't concern themselves with that kind of discussion.

You're right which is probably why i didn't get many responses on that kind of thing. I figure why ask after what other people have, and be envious, when i can enjoy what i've got and be happy. Don't get me wrong, there are things i want out there, but things i know i'll have to earn by hard work.
