Do you think people are just born with the ability to draw?

I think it's natural talent.Talent that needs to be honed though because if someone has talent but never nurtures it they won't be any good.I think that it is possible for people to learn to draw well but they won't create the masterpieces that naturally talented people can make so well.

Not necessarily. Anyone can draw, as far as I am concerned. And like you said, this ability takes a lot of effort to develop. If you don't practice, nothing good will come out. On the other hand, I think some people are born with the "eye"--and the passion.
The "eye" to me pretty much equates to the way you see things. Artists or whoever seem to strike that pen a certain way and this style excites us. It's because they see that they have made an unacceptable, say, circle. It's good to them and they develop this circle into something perfect. This compared to people who doodle a circle and then quit because they knew they've done their part and they've drew that circle. *enter passion* Passion makes us want to be so much more. It envelops that piece of pencil and makes us practice on that drawing. You don't draw it once, you want to draw it over and over again...until, finally you're an artist.
Being good in drawing is not merely natural, it's innate--passion is innate. ^_^

i also think is a natural talent. i feel that even though we may not create a masterpiece compared to those talented, but our parents will feel ours is a masterpiece. remember, when we are young trying to draw with a crayon, our parents get excited when we drew the first shape. so, that's a masterpiece, for our parents. ^_^

Yes, just as people who are born with the ability to sing. But you must enhance your innate talent because if you outgrow it you may not be able to perform at your peak. During the development of the brain it is important that parents support their child to develop their inborn talents. However, some skills and talents can be acquired.

Some are born with it. My son is a good drawer, his dad's side has a lot of good drawers. My sister is not a talented drawer although we have an uncle who is a good artist. But she learned it when she had interest in college. I think you can do anything if you set your heart on it. But lucky are those who are born with the talent.
