Ever since the idea to get a tattoo popped into my head I was wondering if it would had an affect on my ability to have children in the future. I read somewhere that if you have a tattoo on your lower back that it affects your ability to get pain killers while you are giving birth. Do you know if this is true or not? Are there any tattoos that you can get that would affect your pregnancy? Also, I have two nipple rings and I was wondering if having them or any other piercings would affect my ability to have children in the future? What about breast feeding? Can you please give me some insight?

tats shouldnt be a problem at all BUT the piercings you'll definately want to take out before you give birth and your milk comes in..and I knwo that with my gf, she had to take out her belly ring about half way through her pregnancy because she was getting so big and the doc recommended it MIND YOU she was preggers with twins so her belly got pretty damn big

I have a tatoo on my lower back and Im getting an epidural. It doesnt have anything to do with getting pain relief- thank god!! Tatoo's dont affect being pregnant, neither do peircings, the only thing you or your doc would be worried about would be getting an infection in one. I had a belly ring but had to take it out once my belly started getting bigger. My barbells were too small for my expanding button. But you can get pregnancy ones that are longer, but when you go into labor you have to take all of your jewelry out.

I've met nurses who have children and also have piercings and tattoos. I don't think that it will affect my child at all other than possibly making them want to go out and get a tattoo which would also be fine with me.

No way will a tatoo hinder you from getting pain medication. Someone was trying to stop you from getting this tatoo. Piercings should not be any problems either. The jewelry in the piercings may cause a problem, but I am sure you already you have to remove all jewelry anyway. The tatoos will entertain the nurses while they administer the pain relief to you. :)

What I know about tattoo is that once you have one you cannot easily donate blood to anybody. Look at Angelina Jolie, and Brad Pitt, I think they are one of the most tattoed celebrities and yet, they had a child. I don't think it has any effect in terms of giving birth.

I don't think that there is any truth in it at all, I never had any problems related to them with my pregnancy. I did have to take nipple piercing out though as my body rejected it when I was pregnant, though by the time he was born there was still a hole and breasfeeding proved quite interesting to start with as the milk came out the holes, we both got used to it quick enough though and feeding wasn't really a problem.

First of all I don't have a clue whether tatoos are responsible for what you are saying. But if they are why don't you give birth as I did? Believe me for the most of women was a painful experience but with all the pleasure of knowing exactly what is happening around.

Tattoos don't affect the brain so why not have them. If it makes you feel and look good then there is nothing wrong in that. People have been doing it for centuries so why stop now.

i have 5 tattoos in 5 different parts of my body plus i have 2 children. having my tattoos has never hindered my ability to have kids. plus when my kids turn 16 theyre going to have their 1st tattoo paid by their father and i. i say go for it and be open minded about them. as long as it doesnt affect you having a job. i know that some jobs donlike them if they can be seen.

My husbands cousins wife got a tat of a butterfly on her lower back, its huge. She got it after having her second child and she had two more after so no, it doesn't effect you from getting pregnant in the future. As far as an epidural, im not sure if she had one for the other 2 kids so i dont know if it effected her in anyway.

There is absolutely no truth to the urban myths you have mentioned. I have a friend who is a Wicca, heavily tattooed and has her niples pierced, she is the proud mama of two boys. Don't let people hand you any lies.

I don't know about that getting the epidurall. I do know that tattooes shouldn't affect your kids. For our family it is art and art is as close great as you can get.
