All White People Have At Least Some Racist In Them

Hello all. I would like to say that every white person has a hint of some racist in them. A white person knows that when they see a black person, they recognize the fact that they are black and different from them. There is a layer of unspoken racism that lurks through the atmosphere. So therefore I will leave it at that. Dont matter what you say, there are internal private thoughts that automatically come up naturally when a white person sees a black person. It is just not right these days to speak up and say how you feel about a black person but those secret thoughts are still there.

hmmm, as farfetched as your argunent may sound, I actually agree with you. There have been accounts where I am the only black person like at work for example. I realize that I am the only black person, then after a while i forget and just see everyone else as people. There will also be people who bring up the "black questions" It gets tiring, and makes me feel that sometimes i wish i can just take a break from being black. It is a job defending an entire race at all times. sometimes i just need a break. I feel u girl

Marleysa, well said. My first reaction to the question was the same.
Surely a coloured person's reaction would be exactly the same, but it doesn't make him/her any more a racist than it does me. The first thing I notice about a rose is the colour. The first thing I notice about the countryside is how brown it is because we need rain. We are colour conscious people, but that doesn't mean we are racist. It doesn't mean we think any less or any more of the person.

Well i think we should not call each other black or white , after all we are known as one race can human , can't we just live in harmony without saying each other black or white or even who is more powerful ???

you know what When it is summer I go very dark and I get more Racist comments from dark skinned people that whit skinned people, If I was to put a ratio on it I would say at least 80% more from dark skinned people than white skinned, So to reply to your statement I think all people have Racist remarks in their mind, When you can travel both sides of the fence as I do you get to see the results of every ones thinking.

Persia, you seem to be saying in your opening discussion that all white people are racist. You don't provide anything other than your own conviction to prove that this is the case. Nor do you provide any evidence to back it up.
In the above paragraph you seem to be saying that all "races" could have it equally bad, whatever that is supposed to mean.
As you don't give any coherent explanation as to why you feel the way you do it is difficult to know where to start except to say that it is a scientific fact that there is only one race - the human race. I grew up in Ireland where only recently has there been influxes of people from different cultures and colours. Most Irish people have no problem with people from other cultures coming here, once there is no abuse of the system.
To me you have just made a baseless assertion about white people, which seems racist in itself.

What about the names americans call poor white people
"White Trash" "Trailer Park Trash" Are these people seen as superior as well?
Whats with traveling both sides of the fence?
What an odd expression and to ask what side of the fence this person is on is showing that you are judging this person already.
Whatever your race, people are who they are this includes mixed races aswell.
So many are torn between having to choose between the 2 races that made them who they are!

First of all, how do travel both sides of the fence? Are you mixed? What fence are you travelin on? I feel what you saying about everyone havin some racist in them but the differnce is that with white people they were actually higher in society in America and that just doesn't disappear with a new law made. Only thing the law does is make it illegal to do or say something harmful to another person it dont make it illegal to think it. Thoughts cant hurt me im just sayin that I know that they still exist. White people can act like they like black people or they might even do but hey...thats the way to be accepted into American culture these days. be nice to the minorities. i dont know where u live but there are communities where severe discrimination is still present. Im not sayin one race got it worse than any other but people gotta stop thinkin that all that racism and discrimination stuff dont exist anymore because of laws.

I disagree I do not have a hint of racism in my body. It could come from the fact that I was born and raised at at time and in a country where I had not seen many black people. If course this was many years ago when immigration was not so prevalent in Scotland.

Can you see that your post is blatantly racist?!
I am a white person, and no, I am NOT racist. Not once tiny little incy bit! Please don't generalise like that!
But then again, you say in your post 'don't matter what you say'.... So then if it doesn't matter to you what anyone says about it, why did you bother to post the topic?

completly agree with you. and anyone acknowledges that someone is a different color from them. They dont just see people talk to them and then like "OMG I just totally realized you werent the same race as me" Come on people. Anyways, I agree with you.

Thats a good point. I've studied about this in some of my classes. Of Course what about white power? The white man has always had the upper hand in everything. Whites are known as the dominant race. So even if there is more blacks, will that even mean anything?

I would like to believe that this does not apply to all white people, and the fact that this post is singling them out shows you have a underline motive of some kind. The irony is somewhat amusing when you think about it, saying all white people contain racist thoughts is in its self judging someone by their race without knowing anything about the particular person(thus the accuser is showing some form of racism).
As a African American male it is not often that I ponder ones feelings toward me based on my or their race, There are much larger issues in todays world that we should be focusing on. I would love to see the day when Race wasn't such a big deal, but I fear there are too many people in this world with simple minds for that to ever happen. No matter what it seems someone will always have a problem with another person due to the culture or skin tone being different. It is sad really.

I would also add, that we cannot continue to add bricks to a wall, and complain that the wall is separating us. The overall post is racist, and the person who posted doesn't believe she is perpetuating racism. Black, white, etc. have to stop making race an issue if we want race to stop being an issue. White people do have some racism in them, some do, at least. And, Black people, have some racism in them. Some do, at least.
Anyway, lets stop laying bricks with the discussion.

I think that is a pretty negative statement really....Yes there are many whites who do have racism goin on in their heads but that goes the same for ANY race....in all race you'll have ppl who are either openly or closet racist...not just with the whites and certainly not ALL....

i can see where your coming from. but i dont just think it is in white people its in all people. they see the difference in everything. they knoe if you are too skinny to fat, ugly, everything. it dont matter the world is never going to change and there is always going to be racism and hatred out there. no matter how much people try. i feel that everyone has the same thing inside, like the same organs and what not and it shouldnt matter what colour you are or what you look like.

I was raised in a racist culture. No matter how hard I try I will always be a product of my racist culture.
The best I can do is try to be aware of my own racism and work towards resolving it.

Yes I notice if a person is black. I also notice if a person has red hair, or freckles, wears glasses, is heavy or thin, short or tall, yellow or red, long hair or short etc..
I also notice that most buildings are white, or gray, or brown.. I notice that some grass is very green and other grass is brownish or yellowish in color.. so what is your point? If we are observant, we take in and notice everything around us.We size up other people and take notice of them.. this is a natural thing to do. Just because I see a black person means I read anymore into the fact that they are black other than they are black. If you are having "secret thoughts" come up then that would suggest to me that maybe you have some "secret issues" as well..

That's unfair, have you thought of black people also think whenever they see a white person that they are different from them. And once they see a white person, they will think that this person is a racist. Now both white and black are racist..

Recognising someone is different from you (which on a purely superficial level they obviously are if they have a different skin colour) is not racist - it's just fact! Is it also the case then that when a black person meets a white person they also recognise they are different therefore the black person is also being racist?
I do agree with you that we all have prejudices which we may not like to acknowledge we have but they are still there under the surface. Not necessarily about race - it could be about anything. I don't agree with you that every white person has a hint of racism in them although obviously some have (more than just a hint of it as well!).

I just can't agree with you. I'm an Indian and Black. But I have never felt like that anytime in my life. This is so bad to see that such premitive discussions go on till date. I'm shocked. Do not discriminate the society based on Color.

I can't speak for all white people, only for myself. I'm from the southern part of the U.S., considered the most backward by most of the country, although I live in NC, not Mississippi or Alabama. The only redeeming quality that our southern culture has in regards to racism is the honesty about our feelings. Not that it's good, mind you, but southerners are more likely to tell you how they feel about you or make it clear in one way or another. As far as secret thoughts go, most of us white folks have been taught to be very careful not to offend. We may have those thoughts about Hispanics and Asians too. When you see a white person, you do recognize they're different from you.

Here's a question for you. Why is it only whites that are Racists. If that's the case, everyone in this world has a touch of racist in them.
You sound racist towards us "white" people. I think you need to really rethink this. There are people in this world that's not racist. You will probably think what you want to think and that's ok. I won't raise my kids to think the way you think, because that's just wrong.

Apparently there is some racism in you as well Persia. I mean, you singled out white people and black people. You can't tell me that it doesn't exist in other skin colors and is only in "whites" as you put it.

I am not white, nor am I black. I have been the subject of prejudice nevertheless, and have also had and still have my prejudicial views. That is what racism is basically: prejudice. Rich/poor, ugly/pretty, fat/thin, tall/short, young/old, cats/dogs.
You cannot single out whites, as we all harbor some sort of prejudice. There are varying degrees of this ignorance in all of us, some more ignorant than others... we are all human.
