Why do clothes in the stores lose its attraction when they are brought home?

To those who are fond with shopping, do you have such an experience? Can anyone tell us why this happens? Is there a way not to be deceived again?

I haven't experineced this yet coz i always try out the clothes before i buy it. There are several factors that enhances the clothes for it to be attractive like the mannequin's figure/body type, their pose, the accessories, the matching clothes or shoes and the lighting. Maybe one got attracted to a certain clothing and thinking that what looks good on a mannequin will also look good in her/him without even trying the clothes on.

This has never happend to me, I guess at the prices I pay, I learn to love them.
