The one thing I have noticed about alot of these actors and artist, I've been seeing alot of them coming out with clothing lines and perfumes.
People like J-Lo, Beyonce', Jessica Simpson, Gwen Stephani, Sean John (P-Diddy), just to name a few...
The thing is there are more and more celebs in the process of starting up their own personal clothing lines etc...
I know being a parent, and with the craze of celebrities, the last thing we need is for them to come out with clothing lines...I know myself, some of these prices are OUTRAGEOUS!!!!The only clothing from celebs I found that was cheap is Mary Kate and Mary Olsen,
I have a co-worker whose daughter loves them. My co-worker is a happy parent, unlike others who children want the more expensive cloths....
What are you thoughts, Do you buy clothes from your favorite celebrity clothing lines, or have children that ask for their favorites?
Please share your thoughts...

All depends on the price and if I really like the clothing...I have found with walmart, target and kmart that you wash the clothes one time and the seams split open, buttons fall off..so for me quality makes a bit of difference in the "price" ... I have found better quality clothing in these lines so I do buy some ...
My graddoughter is very much into the designer clothing ... she thinks that that is all she can wear ..which I don't care for that ,I think she should be happy with either...but that is kids...

You know how kids are now a days, it's not as easy keeping up with them as our parents kept up with us.
All i really cared for were my shoes, as long as my clothes were nice I didn't care what stores she got them from...
If it could be like those days now...It would be so much more cheaper

The only celebrity clothing lines that I buy are the ones on sale at Walmart, Target or Kohl's ;)
If they are not in any of those department stores, I dont go out of my way to buy them. Ive never been a celebrity monger and I dont expect to change either. My kids can look as cute with a Taget brand as well as a Madonna brand. Who cares what the tag says!

No, I think the only celebrity stuff I have are two perfumes by Britney Spears.

I have bought a couple things from the JLO line right when it first came out because I really liked the fit. Now I'm a little older, and I'm looking for things that are less trendy and more classic that I can keep for a while, and I think these brands are pretty overpriced, and as you said, everyone puts out a clothing line, so it does not seem special anymore.

Exactly my point, You get a hit record or album, next thing you know they coming out with a clothing line or something....If it's on sale, it's possible but nothing regular priced, to rich for my blood

I would have to say if the clothing is good and high quality, I will buy it. If it looks cheap I will not buy their clothes based on the name or brand. This is just my take. Thanks!

I will buy what is on sale or clearance. I do not buy any article of clothing solely based on a name. Neither do I buy name brands. Why pay more money to have a logo plastered on your clothes?

True, but you know some people don't have issues with it and the name is what counts...I'm with you...I can't see myself spending alot of money

I don't buy the clothing because it is beyond my price range. I have bought from the Olsen twins clothing line. Only because they are sold at places like wal-mart and k-mart...those prices I can afford. Lol.

yes you are right the pricing of these clothing lines and perfumes are outrageous, and the majority of children want these items which are so expensive and as parents cannot keep up to the costs of these items for our children I have never bought clothes and perfumes from celebrities if my children want to buy them then they better buy them from their own money not mine.

I know that's right, 80.00 for a pair of young male jeans...that's way to much knowing my son is a rough player...He got a hole in them jeans I would have a heart attack...lol..I stick to the cheaper brands....

Man, I can't afford any of that stuff! *laugh* My family pretty much just buys whatever clothes we can find cheaply that look nice. So far, I would never consider buying a celebrity line of clothing - because, as you said, all of them are so expensive! It really is crazy, some of the prices of those lines of clothing. It's nice to hear that Mary Kate and Mary Olsen have a line that isn't as costly! I'm sure that their clothing line isn't too outrageous in style, either. ^_^

The only reason celebrity clothing lines become popular is because of the name on the tag. Not for the style. They have the money to make a line and because they already are famous, their clothing becomes famous even if their style doesn't stand out. I don't care what the tags say, I buy whatever looks cute. I always look for clothing on sale, and if it happens to be made by a celebrity its cool, if not I don't really care. Kids these days want celebrity clothing just to show off to their friends or be like everyone else.

well, i think i would like to but nothing is available where i live, i don't like all the celebrity brands, just some like lamb by gwen stefani. that one's good.
and when it comes to expense, even unknown stuff is sometimes so expensive so why not go for the brands?

I probably wouldn't buy clothing from a celebrity line but I inadvertenly did once. I bought Glo jeans and they were really reasonably priced. I found out later on they were by Jennifer Lopez lol. No wonder they fit so well. I am slightly built like her lol.

I do love some of the dresses worn by celebrities in some parties or movies or else where and do wish to get them and wear them. I love clothes and this is the reason why these things attract me the most.

No. I have always made all my own clothes, including wedding and bridesmaid's dresses, and all my children's clothes.
There is always something unique about handmade clothing. You are not going to run into someone wearing the same thing. I've made my sons' and husband's shirts, ties and jackets and they have always been thankful for them.
Any purchased clothing is much more expensive than hand made (provided you don't include your own labour, but that is a joy and gives satisfaction). Celebrity clothing is way too expensive.
As far as perfumes are concerned, I use the "If you like their ... you'll love our ..." alternatives. Why pay more than $100 for Dune when you can buy Desert Bird for $12? I like Eternity but the alternative Futurity is even better.

things being sold at celebrity clothing lines are really expensive. i think we should all be wise with using our money. i sometimes don't buy from these stores because sometimes, it's just the name that they have. like perfumes, you don't have to uy it if you don't need it or if you don't like the scent just to have it. you should buy it only if it fits your lifestyle or if you need it.
