what is the purpose of wearing make up?

I know most of you will think why I am asking this although I am a girl. Its just I am curious, why girls wear make up? Isn't it, it is better if we girls be as simple as posible? just powder, then fixed your hair properly, wear neat and presentable attire i guess is more than enough.

Because everyone is different. Some people look at make up as a way to express themselves, others use it to help enhance their natural features and some use it to cover scars or other blemishes.

Honestly sir, I am just afraid because most of the girls wear make up just to attract guys. Yucks! Why cover the blemishes and scars in your face? if that is really in you? Anyway, people tend to look for the physical appearance rather than its inner side.
