Do you still consider suicide a sin?

As a devout Catholic, I always consider killing as a mortal sin. Likewise to suicide, because suicide means "the act of deliberately killing yourself", which I do consider a very serious sin. Again, I will say that we don't have the right to end our own lives, or other people's lives. Only God have the permission to do that.

I have some of the same feelings as you do on this..but consider this scene...it's Sept 11th 2001 and your on the 88th floor of the world trade center. there is no escape and all hope is lost. the smoke is so thick you cant see, the heat so intense it feels like your skin is melting.
Do you stay and burn alive in pain that you couldnt even begin to imagine, or do you end your suffering by jumping out the window? or are you going to sit there and contemplate if its a sin or not?

I believe that God makes exceptions for things like that. At least, that's what I hope.

Taking one's life is a sin...Thou shall not murder...that includes yourself. There is nothing too big for God to handle.

nope i dont think its a sin...i think its a shame that people get in such a dark and lonely place that they want to do that.i think life is a precious, precious gift full of beautifull things.i see beauty in places other people just miss it.there are alot of bad things and terrible people in the world but i am sooooo glad for every day that im here.i wish i could help people who want to end it all because its so final and such a waste.i think about all the people who are terminally ill, especially kids who would give anything to live and i feel so sad.but i think we own our own lives,if we want to die,its up to us but i think if people are balanced and thinking straight they wouldnt want to.

yes i agree with you.sucide is a mortal sin.why can't people live up to the challenge and face it rather giving their life for it. GOD had given them a chance but he lost it.i think sucide people are the greatest losers.

I really don't know. It is kinda selfish to kill yourself because you're causing pain to other people, but I don't know if it'll be an actual sin...I guess the reason for killing yourself would have to be under consideration for God.
