Why these dogs are howling.?

It's here now 2:35 am and im alone inside my room working with my pc.Suddenly,these stray dogs outside here started to howl..and getting more louder..The howling sound make me jump out from my skin and freak me out.I don't know why these dogs gone nuts and making such noise...

the dogs must have learned many things from human beings as they are the best friend of man...so it is usual to shout at eachme silly reasons or for no reason at all. you know the 'dont come in to my territory' thing. that might be it. if not, sorry pal i am out of answer lol

Where I live I dont hear many dogs howling. And I have alot of land where I live and never hear dogs barking or howling so thats a good thing for me but not you.

it is basically the character they inherited from their cousins i.e. wolves. This a way to communicate with each other and display their dominance over a area. Like the wolves, dogs are very territorial and don't share with other dogs !! The male dogs have separate areas to dominate but the area of the female dogs area overlaps many male dogs area !!

Lol theres probably no real answer. Maybe something upset them or they are attacking prey/eachother.
