Norah Jones' parents.

Does anyone know who Norah Jones' mother is and what her name is? Just wondering why she adopted the last name 'jones'. Her dad is the very very famous Ravi Shankar and I guess she didn't fancy Norah Shankar as her stage name! Was her mum famous too?

Thanks thats great! Certainly answers a few questions, I don't think he was around much when she grew up was he? I'm sure I read that somewhere. Thanks for replying :-)

it blew my mind when i found out that ravi shankar is nora jones father...its so cool...maybe they'll make an album together that would be cool... however i believe that they don't get thogether well.

her real name is Geethali Norah Jones Shankar. she's got a half-sister who's also a musician, Anoushka Shankar, from Ravi's 2nd marriage (",)

Ohmygod wow! Thanks for commenting tinkerbelle, I didn't know that. What a name eh, Geethali is quite cool though. I've not heard of her half sister before though, thanks for the info :-)
