Here's a great tip to speed up your browsing in window 2000 & xp machines. Its a bug fix that by default of a normal win 2000/xp setup that scans shared files for scheduled tasks, so its turn out that u can experience a delay as long as 45 sec when you try ti veiw files across a network as win 2000/xp is using the extra time to search the remote computers. Note that after this the users will xperience that actual browsing speed of both the internet & win explorer is improved significantly
Open up the registry by
1. Go to start
2. run
3. typing regedit
4. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/CURRENT VERSION/EXPLORER/REMOTECOMPUTERS/NAMESPACE
Under that branch, select key,{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}RIGHT CLICK & "DELETE" IT.
This fix is so effective that it doesn't require reboot Just determine how much it speed up ur browsing speed.
NOTE: Just before you try this backup the reg key u delete so you can undo any changes in the future. But believe me its 100% working.
