A large percentage of children who enter school, are out before they complete their primary education. Most of these school drop outs are girls. Why?

I would hazard a guess at two things.
In terms of other reasons than pregnancy, males and females are about equal but with expecting children more females drop out. or
Females generally have higher standards until University level where it tends to level out, higher standards = higher expectations which means more girls may cop out and take the supposedly easier route.

i would agree since teenage pregnancy puts a great toll on a girl. they can't be in school and especially after they have a child. but i do applaud those who do stay in school i knew a girl who was pregnant my sophmore year and would sometimes bring the baby to school her junior year.

Many thanks for nicely responding and sharing your thoughts. Then, what do you suggest to remedy and prevent such problem? How to reduce female drop outs in school? Any innovative idea ?
