I didn't get mine until I was 20 years old. I was terrified to drive and wasn't ready for it until I was older. I wouldn't push he'll let you know when he's ready.

i would just let him go. if he doesn't want one, then don't force him. get him a buss pass if he's more comfortable with that. teens normally have a reason for things like that. let him work it out and if/when he wants it, then let him take it.

Well I don't think you should push it, there must be some reason why he doesnt want it. He might realize it soon that he wants it, to have more freedom and get around by himself....so no worries! He will come around.

I was 16 when I got my licensce, and let me tell you, I should NOT have been allowed to drive! I have no idea how I didn't have a wreck. The longer kids wait to get their license, the better. He will feel much more confident when he does end up getting his license. Now, if it gets to be 25 and is making you drive him everywhere - that is when you should tie him up and drop him off for the driver's test! : )

I wouldn't push the issue, because most teens realize when they're ready or just want to for that matter. I think he will eventually come around. For some kids the thought of the written and driving test can be worrying or stressful. I think I would just give it some time and see how he does later on about it.
