I don't know much HTML or anything, but I do have access to a web page maker; the kind where you just drag and drop stuff into it. I also have a registered domain and a free hosting site. The problem is, I have no idea where to start, or how to get people to view my site once it's done, so if anyone has any advice, please share.

The most easy way is take a CMS and personalize it as you like, there's nothing more easy to do.

the best ways I have found to get traffic to my website is with social networking sites...most are free to use and you can meet tons of people that can really help you and learn from them too...if you like pm me I can give you some website adddreses...good luck ...
PS. I don't recommend traffic exchanges but feel free to use them if you like ...

The best way to design a website without any html knowledge is to try it through the microsoft frontpage, which is indeed a very neat software for those who don't know anything about HTML, probably you could start from there. Regarding viewing of your site, you search for various forums in this regard where there are 1000s of useful tips on how you can promote your website.
You could visit this site for ways to promote your website:

Yes that definitely sounds like the easiest thing to do, but also the most expensive._X-D I'm trying to spend as little money as possible. Thanks for the reply, though.

Oh yes, I have free space to host my site, with pretty good bandwidth, it's actually making the site that's the problem for me.

Well, first thing you need is a basic understanding of HTML, the basic language of web pages. A book for your web page maker, will give you all the basics and a few examples. No offense meant, but the "Subject Here" For Dummies series of books is very informative and easy to learn from. The ones for programs are better than the book/help files you get with your software. I have used many of these books and they are great. To get your site listed, submit it to search engines to get listed, and hope you get some traffic. Post links on blogs, myspace, wherever else you know people to get some traffic started, hopefully it builds up. Watch out not to put too much content on a single page, it slows them down badly. Search "webmaster resources" and read some of the tutorials on these sites, they are very helpful, and most have free code snippets you can use for clocks and other little toys. Many of these sites have generators for advanced HTML/CSS codes that are free to use. There's lots of free stuff available, just dig through some of it and see what you find.

Well I dont recomend frontpage. It is out dated. I think Macromedia Dreamweaver is much easier to use & it has a lot more features than front page.

I think the easiest way to build a site is to install front page. It's easy to use and you can make great web pages. I made my own in just a day. Take a look over it and if you like it just private message me to tell you more about the paid programs from my page. www.nickos.bro.ro

Well for beginers,I would strongly recomend CMS.The best CMS in my view is Joomla or Mambo.I use it & its really nice. if u have fantastico in ur hosting cpanel, its very easy to install them. otherwise if u wanna build normal web pages,u can try Dreamweaver. Its easy to use & not much html knowledge is required. The only thing u neeed is to do the graphics.

I use macromedia dreameweaver to make websites and webpages.. it's easy and all the stuffs I need are available. Integrate XML-based data, such as RSS feeds into web pages using a simple drop and drag workflow, and a lot more features that will be relevant in building your website

Start out with something simple, like a drag and drop thing, then go on to HTML. Start out on HTML doing easy things, then go on to harder stuff, and before long you'll have it mastered. Theres HTML guides online just look them up.
