I'm 25, in sales, and working on my MBA. On the weekend, I bartend/serve. In fact, I've been in the restaurant business for about 9 years. Maybe I should write a book about all of the weird people and their quirks I've served? Ideas?

What you need to start any project is an idea and fortunately you have that idea. Then go ahead and put something down. The next step is to consult somebody who has written a book to guide and correct you. That is all.

Hi! For whatever it's worth, I'm a professional editor and I would be glad to read a book about your restaurant experiences. I think it sounds quirky, funny, and fresh, something you don't see everyday (unlike formula romances, etc). I say go for it! :-)

I don't know if the world is ready for what happens in a restaurant. I have been in the restaurant/food business now for 20 yrs. Just when I think I have seen it all, something new and bizarre happens. If you write one, I'll be one of the first to buy it! Because I know it would never be dull.

Write something that interests you. That would help you make a good plot. If you want, you can write something about your work, or sales, or maybe you can write a fiction novel whose characters depict people with the kind of work you have.
